Our History
Celebrating Over 42 Years of Service to the Yucaipa Community and Local Area.
The Yucaipa Amateur Radio Society (formally Yucaipa Valley Amateur Radio Club) is an amateur radio enthusiast club serving the Yucaipa area and Calimesa. Yucaipa and Calimesa are about 75 miles east of Los Angeles and 35 miles west of Palm Springs along the 1-10 freeway.
The club has been in existence since 1983 and has served the community in many ways. These include the community flood watch, providing communications for the Lion’s club 5/10 k walk/run event, the Redlands Bicycle Classic and the Bartow to Baker run.
We also provide periodic sessions to help prepare for the licensing exams.
The goal of the club is to provide support, education and resources for the amateur radio community and training in emergency communication for time of need.
To help achieve these goals, our club has affiliated with the Yucaipa Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
